Redbreast Sunfish eat a diet of insects and other bugs, small crayfish, snails, and small fish. Like most other sunfish, small "buggy" looking flies (like Pat's Hot Tail Mini-Craw, Rio Poquito, and Deer Hair Ants) are typically very effective for catching Redbreast Sunfish, as well as other small baitfish imitation flies like Wooly Buggers, Foxy Clousers, and Mini-Minnows.
